Configuring Hardware

Take control of your controls!

The FSUIPC interface. Most serious flight simmers know the value of FSUIPC, the software developed by Peter Dowson to act as an interface between hardware and Microsoft Flight Simulator. It has become the widest used piece of software in the add-on market.

Some years ago, John Cook wrote the definitive tutorial for using FSUIPC to calibrate and setup all of your yoke, throttle, switches and joysticks, but it is still appropriate today. FSUIPC documentation is hard to understand, particularly for novices, so this document sets out very clearly how to configure your hardware using the paid version of FSUIPC. If you only have the free FSUIPC version, upgrade to the full version as it will be the best add on you will buy! You can get FSUIPC here.

Although the document deals with the CH Products Yoke and throttle quadrant, the same principle applies to any joystick, yoke or throttle hardware.
